一貫した制作テーマは「関心と愛情」(“Attention and affection” is a consistent theme throughout my work)

私は作品を作る上で、「関心と愛情」を一貫したテーマとして制作をしています。このテーマを選んだ理由として、ノーベル平和賞を受賞したエリ・ヴィーゼル氏の言葉で「愛の対義語は憎しみではなく無関心である」という言葉に共感しており、他の存在に関心を寄せることこそ、愛のある行為であると考えているからです。関心を寄せることで、存在を理解することが出来、その理解は存在を装飾するように沸き立ち美しく彩ります。存在も関心を寄せられたことで愛情を感じ、愛によって美しく存在出来ると感じています。存在の捉え方は人それぞれであり、唯一無二の関係だからこそ更に尊いと感じます。私はそれを美しい宝物のように感じていて、今の自分にとって美術で表現したいのはこの宝だと考えました。

“Attention and affection” is a consistent theme throughout my work. This theme is inspired by the resonance I feel with the words of Nobel Peace Prize laureate Elie Wiesel: “The opposite of love is not hate; it’s indifference.” I believe showing interest in others is an act of love. By paying attention, we can understand their existence, and that understanding embellishes their presence beautifully. Just as existence can feel love through receiving attention, I feel that love enables us to exist beautifully. Each individual’s perception of existence is unique, making our relationships all the more precious. I see this as a beautiful treasure, and expressing it through art is what I want to do.

彫金技法、七宝焼の技法で制作する意味 ( The reason why I create my artworks through metalworking and cloisonné enameling techniques )

彫金技法は自らの作業がそのまま形として表れる表現方法であり、一手一手をじっくりと考えながら成形するため自分の感情を表現することに適した技法であると感じています。さらに七宝技法は古代から人々の宝と考えられるモノに対し施されてきた装飾技法であり、私が宝物と感じている「他の存在との関わりから得られる充足感」を表現することに適した技法だと考えています。

Metalworking allows me to express my emotions through each careful step of shaping the materials, making this technique suitable for portraying my feelings. Additionally, the cloisonné technique has been used to decorate objects considered treasures since ancient times, making it appropriate for expressing the “fulfillment obtained from connections with others,” which I consider a treasure.
